Grant proposal writing can be a daunting task. If all that effort doesn't convert into a funded project it can be very frustrating! Writing a good grant proposal can take many weeks of hard work. Brainstorming the idea, finding (the right) partners, identifying win-win scenarios and then translating that concept into a document which needs to impress a group of evaluators who will spend only an hour or so in reading, understanding and decision making. Given the fierce competition, the general probablility of success is about 1 in 10. Even for a very well written proposal it is 1 in 2! Brainstorming Facilitation:
You have a vague concept, and a group of people - but how do you extract all those ideas into a tangible outline proposal? Expert facilitation (and lots of flip-chart paper) are key to getting the best out of both the team and the concept. A 1-2 day workshop can make the difference between a vague idea and an exciting concept with a team who have both ownership and commitment to all the hard work that lays ahead in proposal development.

Pre-evaluation:
Together with the assistance of independent experts, the European Commission evaluates all eligible proposals.The evaluation procedure takes place either in a single or two-stage procedure and is divided into several steps.
Prior to the actual evaluation, the Commission briefs the evaluators either orally or in writing, so as to inform them of the general evaluation guidelines and the objectives of the research area under consideration. Each proposal is then independently evaluated against the applicable evaluation criteria by 3 or 5 experts. Each expert fills in an individual evaluation form, in which they provide comments and give evaluation marks. A Proposal being analysed and evaluated by the experts forms the basis of the consensus report.
The best way to improve your chance of success is to become one the comission experts, the next best way is to use the services of someone who is! We offer a "Pre-screening" service, where we take a near-final proposal and spend a day evaluating it and offering critique and suggestions. This is best done a couple of weeks prior to the deadline.

Monitoring:
On the behalf of the funding organisation we perform quarterly monitoring of the projects. Rather then be a policeman, we operate in a very proactive supportive manner, anticipating issues and offering suggestions of best practice to keep the project on track, on budget and within scope.
